Rated #228: 40 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank

Rated #228: 40 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank - This tank is a cichlid tank that I have recently set up. It contains Mbuna cichlids. The substrate is store bought and created by combining different materials from the ocean such as sand and shells. This buffers the ph of the tank so it needs to be monitered on a more regular basis but with constant water changes it keeps the levels pretty accurate. I don't need to add any ph up of down to the tank with this substrate. The rocks are from a local river that were soaked and scrubed with bleach and rinsed with hot water. The plants are fake except the green on the top of the rocks. That is a java moss that I added recently that should begin to attatch in a week or so. I am currently running a tube under the gravel that is split with an airline double T. From each of these I ran an airstone.. Thats where the bubbles are coming from. The tank is filtered by an undergravel filter and a H.O.B filter that filtters 600 gph.
