Description: I have a 36 gallon bowfront planted tankWith a Cascade 1000 canister filter, the 1st tray is a ruff sponge topped with a medium sponge followed by a fine floss, the 2nd tray is ceramic bio rings and the 3rd tray is lava rocks. I used CaribSea Eco-Complete Planted Aquarium substrate, current plant stock is dwarf hairgrass and dwarf baby tears. I will be adding more plants.Co2- I use a DIY setup that cost me under 30.00 to start and about 3.00 a month, here is a link to how to set it up. For lighting, I am using two small led waterproof floodlights, Warmoon 10W Waterproof LED Flood Light( they work ok, plants are growing but they are more of a spotlight then I had wanted)My fish stock is all small fish I have 10 neon fish, 10 glowlight tetras, 10 Celestial Pearl Danio, 1 Mail Betta (round tail), Japanese Trapdoor Snail and 4 Zebra Snails
Advice: Planted tanks do not have to cost a lot or need fancy gear to thrive. lots of plants do well in lowlight and with no co2.Co2 does not have to cost you an arm and a leg to set up!! there is nothing wrong with a DIY build if it gets the job done!Bettas do not have to live alone and should not be kept in a vase they need warm water and a filter.
Corals/Plants: current plants are dwarf hair grass and dwarf baby tears.
Tank Size: 36 gallons
