freshwater fish - astronotus ocellatus - red oscar stocking in 30 gallons tank - Cinnabar my Red Oscar, this is my favorite of all of them and I believe this one is a female but still not sure. At feeding time she likes to jump straight out of the water and has got my fingers a couple times, good thing she is only about 4 inches. The reason this one is my favorite is because she replaced the one oscar that I lost because it ate one of my plecos that was too big and I could not get it out of the mouth and it ended up choking on it, poor thing. I hope this one isn't as greedy.

30 gallons freshwater fish tank (mostly fish and non-living decorations) - My 10 gallon, not my best tank of the 3 but it will do for now, it has 2 angel fish, 3 tiger barbs, 1 feeder gold fish that I am fattening up lol 2 small algae eaters and 2 aquatic frogs. It has marbles a that thing in the middle I aquired from somewhere and used it a hiding place with a rock on top and a fake plant. The barbs are really entertaining chasing each other around, they don't even bother the angelfish...for now.
30 gallons freshwater fish tank (mostly fish and non-living decorations) - 2 oscars, 1 danio and a pleco in the 20 gallon, with a tuffa rock, marbles , a piece of slate, and a fake rock and plant. Right behind the couch, and a excellent place to watch them from. These 2 could be a breeding pair!!

Description: I can't remember exact dimensions of the tank. They are all an aqua-tech tank and it came with all the supplies I needed. For now I have a 10, 20, and 30 gallon tanks.
Advice: I always hear about people not sure of what to use for the substrate, sand is good and so are rocks but for me personally I use marbles..they are so easy to clean and my fish can move them and pick food from between them very easily. Also when I use my fish vacuum the marbles move really easy out of the way and I never have to replace anything.
Fish Kept: I first wanted to say that I have 4 oscars and I am well aware that they need bigger tanks than the ones I have now, but aquariums are expensive so down the road I will be able to put them in bigger tanks. So the fish I have in the 10 gallon are 2 angel fish, 3 tiger barbs(yeah I know they shouldn't be together but all is well for now) and 2 aqautic frogs and 2 little sucker fish. In my 20 gallon I have a lemon oscar and a lutino oscar (they might be a pair I am hoping) and one danio he is too fast to be eaten and a pleco. And lastly in the 30 gallon I have way to many fish living in there together but I will be getting a new tank soon so in there is a red oscar and another lutino oscar, a gold severum, a snowwhite cichlid, a chinese algae eater and 2 plecos.
Corals/Plants: I do not keep real plants cause I know that my oscars will destroy them, I just use fake ones, I have some that glow in the dark, but really that does not do anything for the fish...my husband thought they were cool.
Tank Size: 30 gallons
Quote: none
About Yourself: I started out with just goldfish until a friend of mine got an oscar and then I was hooked when I saw that you could feed them worms and shrimp and grasshoppers and that they actually have some personality. My name is Chelsey and I am 22, I live in British Columbia Canada, and I have had my oscars for about 5 months now they are my favorite.
