is it the picture or do you have a "day and night" side set up goin on in there? ...looks real sharp either way........day/night........tank would be an interesting consept in a salt system as different things like different light....would give em all a chance to be viewed at most anytime .......

that's kind of what i am working with, i have a flora glow night lamp on the left and a high watt full spectrum plant bulb on the right it's neat to see the differrent fish congregate to the diff lights at diff times of the day. thank you very much for the comment i really appreciate the feedback, when i set up my fifty five gallon i am giong to work with that same type of setup as well i think it will be interesting to see what happens.

Very nice, I love that centerpiece driftwood. Makes me wish I didn't just go to the LFS and pick up the first overpriced LOG I found. lol
And I wish you and your wallet luck with the 55gal. :)

I like the change in driftwood position. What do you think of making a virtual stream-bed on the right side of the wood and have the grass field you were talking about border the bare stream-bed. Sorry if I'm being too critical or forward. That's probably why I don't have a huge pile of friends. The ones I do have are very close though. I'm trying to do something like this with my new planted tank and it'll be kind of like a cross section of a jungle canyon/valley with virtual stream-bed in the middle, balanced with the obtrusiveness of the wood. Water as it meanders through a valley often is eroding at something like tree roots or rock at one side, and the other side of the stream there is a small area of grass (the inside of a meander) and next to that there is the "jungle" again, growing in from where the stream many years before had once been.
To me a planted tank is like a forest in miniature, and having elements like rocks, wood, virtual stream-bed(element of water), etc, covers the range in elements that Japanese gardens are made up with. Peter
