ok so ......is macro algae something i buy? ....it's been a week since i started this thread and 2 water changes later.....water parameters are good, except for PH {8.0} and im dosing for that.....but the water clarity has not changed one bit.......i pulled the chemi-pure bag out of the filter as it seems that my PH dropped when i put it in.....and i saw no change whatsoever with it in there...........a few posts up i pasted in an article on diatom algae {which i think is what this crap is} i put an air stone in the tank in hopes that O2 might help and im dosing to raise the PH back up to 8.2 - - - - today was maint. day so stired up the sand some, in case i'm compacting and makeing bad bactieria...................other than that guys I'm at a complete lose here....no articles, no information....... i and no one else seems to be able to get a handle on this......................still open to suggestions, Snowboss

will do man....you see that filter i referanced for Noack in the other post? what do you think ? i like it but don't understand how it will "break" syphon in a power outage...unless that primer pump thing is producing prime all the time and when power goes out it simply stops....interesting consept for a compact "sump" type set up......be good on my 20 ....no?
