Causes of see through plants

What causes plants to have that see through quality about them?

I'm thinking that my lighting isn't strong enough but I'm not positive. I don't want to have to replace the lighting if I don't have to but if the plants don't improve after I put in some food tabs I guess I'll have to.

Not only could it be light but also lack of nutrients. I use Seachem Flourish\Iron\Potassium and Excel in my planted tank.

Thanks! I'll try those products before I change anything else I think, giving it enough time to see if the nutrients could be the root cause of this.
