I just got a slug two days ago, and tonight when looking into the tank I see that it has a long tendril hanging from its back??? Is this normal, did something hurt it? What to be done? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Additional info: It's not a white coil (egg sac), it's the same color as the slug with a bulbous part at the end of the tendril/strand.
