seriously pissn me off

my cichlids keep taking every rock from the middle of tank n moving them.but what pisses me off is they put them in front so when i wake up i cant see half my tank.so retarted question, if cleaned enough could i use REALgravel,like driveway size,also considered goin to lake n getting rocks since i live 9 blocks from lake michigan

You can, but chances are they will still move it, or hurt themselves trying. That is natural behaviour and part of owning cichlids

Might want to consider that land rocks have metals and minerals in them. Who knows what will leach out of them. Soaking them will only clean the surface as well. I'd go for the lake rocks if i were you.

All the rocks i have in my tanks are land based rock, never had an issue with any of it. And being you are putting them in with cichlids some can actually help with water hardening

To find out which will harden you water, put some vinegar on the rock, if it fizzles it has some water changing properties
