to make a long story short i bought a 200 gph filter to replace my
100 gph filter, because i felt it isnt strong enough...so at the moment i have both filters running for about 4 days now....my question is....is my tanks current now "300 gph". correct me if im wrong,
isnt that too strong for a 10 gallon....if so how can i lower the current....by the way i have a aqueon power filter 20, so i cant adjust the flow.......and one last question, how long do i seed for...
before i take the original filter out....

usually you want to cycle 10X your gallon compacity per hour. You can't really have too much filtration though. Too much current can be a problem though.

There are a couple of tricks to lowering current. If you have HOB filters, keep the water level really high so the water doesn't get agitated as much. If you have canister filters, keep both of the intakes on the same side, preferably along the back wall, so that the current is limited to only one area of the tank. If you have both, do both.
