Hello everyone. I am planning on getting a custom 90 gallon tank soon and debating on the demensions. The standard is L48" x W18" x H24". I think the height is a little too much and prefer the height of a 75 gallon which is 21". So if i lower the height, i could increase the width but dont know what the exact measurement would be. If anyone could help me i would appreciate it. So L? x W18" x H21". Is the length going to be 52"?Sorry if its a stupid question. Thanks in advance.
Also if anyone has a 90 gallon tank with different demensions other than the standard size, i would love to see some pictures! I searched every 90 gallon tank on this site and wished everyone listed their demensions but only a few do. Thanks again.

Just a thought...you might want to stick with a 48" length simply because it is a standard size. Lights and canopies will fit. By increasing to a 52" length you run into the problem of light fixtures not fitting properly...not sure if that matters to you or not. I also do not know what types of lights you are considering...for example, if you are setting up a reef with pendant halides then the tank length increase of only 4" would not make that big of a difference.
Something to consider:
For the cost increase of a custom 90 gallon is it that important to reduce the height by only 3" (Standard 90 Long = 48x18x24, 90 Wide = 36x24x24)
Actually I believe a standard acrylic size would be a 95 Wide = 36x24x25. There are slight differences in standard sizes for acrylic and glass, as well as the actual finished size.
Size and gallon comparisons - all are custom sizes
52x18x21 = 85 gallons
52x19x21 = 90 gallons
Custom 48" 90 Gallon = 48x22x20 (actual = 91 1/2 gallons)

For future reference, theres an easy way to figure out the length if you know the width, height, and volume.
volume=length x width x height.
So first, we need to figure out the volume of a 90 gallon tank
Standard tank: 48x18x24=20736=volume
So we take that volume and plug it into our original equation, but for the custom tank
20736=lengthx18x21
or, put more simply
length=20736/(18x21) which is 54.8 inches. So round up to 55 inches and your all set.
volume=length x width x height.

and aquaman seems to have it right: "Custom 48" 90 Gallon = 48x22x20"....which is an awesome width, 22 inches...too bad it's not like dream posted: 72 inches length or even 96 inches....but 22 inches is not bad, I wouldn't shatter it (((smiles)))
