Hard to see. What kind of camera are you using? I'm betting on algae but it might even be a sponge of some sort.

The black thing is nothing. its just my shielded limpet laying eggs there. Thats its favorate spot to breed.

it is a macro algae. there are 2 variations of that, one is green and lives off calcium seen it alot on live rock when it comes into the stores and this one. it is in a lo light area right? it dosent harm anything and is a slow growing algae. nothing to worrie about. and if you want to git rid of it ez to just scrap off.

i have stuff growing all over my tank, and dont know what it is.... if it dont hurt the fish i just leave it.... and if it dosnt get out of hand i leave it....
