Red tiger lilly is really easy and doesn't require much light. I have it in my 100 gallon with a 4 foot long quad hardware store florescent with 40 watt bulbs at $1.99 a peice. I have to thin it out often, but the red leaves and pads are very nice.
A smaller tank needs more light per gallon, but I'm sure it would do well with what you have.
Maybe you can find some wood on the beach. Takashi Amano seems to like wood where there are more branches instead of one big chunk.

LOL, i'm pretty land locked here in UT and don't make it to the beach on a regular basis. I only wish!
