What type of lights do you use Gldntrmite ?

Marineland 48 inch lights, i'll have to get the specs for you each unit, i have three has 3 cycles on it. I'm new to the hobby so some of the technical aspects i'm still grasping. 2 bulbs have a very blue tint to them and the others a very bright white. I'll dig up the actual specs. they are designed to actually sit directly on top of my tank however they get very warm with the hood over them so i've got a few ideas.

First the cooling fans on each light are on the ends however the ends are butted up to the hood. So i'm going to use a router and carve out some vent holes in the hood so the hot air actually leaves the hood and then raise the lights up 3 inches off the tank to aid in cooling.

Anyone have a Vlaminga Tang? It is unbelievable how damn quick mine is growing! He was a little guy when i threw him in 5 months ago and he's a good 6-7 inches long already! Eats like he's never been fed a day in his life!! LOL

well thats the problem, my house can be a comfortable 70 degrees and my room, with a brand new fan on, just the ceiling fan light on will be EASILY 85 degrees, i dont understand why my room stays so hot
