using twigs in the aquarium
Can I use twigs, and sticks in my aquarium? if so what kind of wood and can it be green or dry.Also can I use normal clear silicone from the hardware store in the tank.

get silicone 1 from GE... the one WITHOUT the anti mold agent...
and i wouldn't put any kind of twigs or wood into the water... you could get driftwood roots though... i think... but again... i wouldn't do it...

you can grow real bamboo.....but it will eventually die i think if you don't let it "grow out" and i believe that twigs would ok. but you need to make sure it has dried out, and boiled boiled boiled......and all the bark should be removed....and the harder the wood the better like oak....it will take longer to rot.

I would not use any kind of pine, as they are very sappy and could contaminate water. I would use only hard solid woods. I'm not a tree expert but I know a few. One question I have is, where do you live? If you live up north your chance at finding good usable branches/limbs/twigs will be better. If you live down south it will be a bit harder as we have pine tree forests and very little hard wood besides oak. I can't remember the names of good types of trees but I'm sure you could look them up.
