the first two are bad pics but you can see the red stuff { in the first pic there is a bad flash reflection under the powerhead, thats not algae, sorry} - - -the last pics is just cool, those rocks came from Misquamicut beach Rhode island where we vaca'd a few weeks ago, the hermit crab likes to tear down the pile about every other day to get to the food pellets, it'slike a game for us.....pile em up and watch him take em down..............keeps him busy .......lol

can't make it out clearly but it does not look like coralline algae to me. seems more like nuisance algae. what's yr tank water parameters like.
did it start to appear only when yr temp gotten higher?

sorry bout the pics.........the parameters are right on ammo = 0 nitrate= 0 to a trace, nitrite = 0 and PH is right on - - -Pimp told me to test the calcium levels, i don't have a test kit for that yet so it'll have to wait
I can't really say if it started with the temp increase or not i just happened to notice it and then noticed how hot the tank was - - Pimp seems to think it's not a bad algae . . .it's semi hard and can be scratched, so it's not slim or ceyano{SP} and it's seems to be on just one piece of rock
it's not purple like coraline - -more of a brick color
