What is the rule for the number of shrimps to be added to a tank?
What is the minimal number required?
Do we count them like fishes (i.e. they endup using gallon per inch?).
How many shrimps?

Yeah a single fish will produce about as much bio load as about 4 of most small shrimp varieties...ghost/amano/cherry red, etc.
Most sites I've read from claim that 3 is the minimum shrimp like to stick with, 6 or more is great. Cherry reds look great in a little 'herd'.

7-10 shrimp per gallon is usually the stocking limit for shrimp tanks. So 70-100 shrimp in a 10 gallon tank would be ok.

Yea I would believe it probably depends on what shrimp but if your talking about like feeders such as ghost shrimp then any amount would probably be fine.

Thanks for you replies. I just got 3 Amano for now. Will see how they do in my tank and will likely get more later (and probably different kinds also(i.e. cherry red)). They will live with bleeding heart tetras, harlequin rasboras, platties, corries and ottos. I will avoid big shrimps if they can harm my small fish.
