You might not have enough light for amazon sword. If's the lights you have are 15 watts and bought at walmart or another store that doesn't specialise in aquariums you may need better lights.

I agree, you need to buy a better light; some plants like yours need stronger light so it can complete its photosynthesis correctly
also, you could purchase Flourish Tablets (aquariumguys.com have it), it comes in a 10 count package, each tablet lasts 3-4 months, it is placed in the substrate (should last for 18 months ro so the entire package), costs about $7.00 a package.
Even though I frown upon chemicals, Flourish Tablets will help the plants not die back and turn yellow.
BUt first you best get a good light. I would avoid Walmart for all fish items. Go to a local pet store, your best bet; or a good online web site like Dr Fosters & Smith or aquariumguys.com; or to Petsmart (though their prices are very high, and sometimes their items aren't the greatest either). But never ever Walmart...Walmart is only good for dish towels and such (((smiles)))
hope this helps

oops just read on the box and it says best used with other lighting as well, but there is only one place to put a bulb so I am not sure if there are lights that will have to ammount of watts that I want... any suggestions?

ya but I only have one place to put a bulb in, there is no more room for any other bulbs. Is there bulbs that can give enough watts with only 1 bulb?

Do you have a hood? There are single flourescents that are very narrow and can be screwed to the underside. The other option if you don't have room is to buy a whole new light system. A cheap and good way to go could be flourescent shop lights. Find a fixture as long as your tank and with the most bulbs per fixture and install plant bulbs. Then you could cover the light woth a nice decrative cloth to make it look better. These lights don't get very hot, but if they do I'd buy a little cooling fan from Radioshack and jimmy it in there somehow.
I also like the clamp-on the back of the tank halides for about $300. They give plenty of great light and create a shimmering effect on the bottom of the tank. It's more than I'm willing to afford or I'd get one myself.

Do what PK says, and then give them some ferts with iron as a supplement to kickstart them back to growth, unless the damage has been done..
