does lead leach out into your water
is lead harmful in an aquarium? You know those led weights that are on the bottom of some plants that you buy? I ask this because i was pulling apart one of those flexible bubble wands and noticed that inside the reason that they are flexible is because there is a lead rod in the middle. this to me just does not seem safe.

These days most manufacturers are using graphite instead of lead, just like in wooden pencils. However it doesn't mean some third world country that is making aquarium supplies isn't still using lead in some things. It is suppose to be outlawed in most things. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Bring it to any local jewelry store and the if they do appraisal, than this guy should be able to tell you if the metal is lead or graphite.

so the bubble wand that i was using is made by Marine land so if any of you have that there is led in it. Mind you it is easy to pull out if you just pop the ends off but then it is still flexible but will not hold its shape
