1500, 80+ lb catfish. Is that for 1 fish or a combined total weight? I've caught a 3 lb and thought I really had something.

no thats 1500 lbs for one fish .........looks like a VW bettle with eyes and wiskers, lol

ive seen a 650 lb cat from that lake

the story goes that a diver working on one of the hydro- generator return tubes went down to investigate a blockage actually swam into the fish head first up to his shoulders before he realized it wasn't a tube he was in [it's dark brackish nasty colored water} - -i guess from the shear size they get they realy don't move they just lay on the bottom with their mouths open and the water just pumps through em and they end up looking all deformed and shit like jaba the hut because they never swim......who knows....it was in the paper and i talked to a couple of maintinence guys , i worked on the fuel system for their site trucks a few time when i was in the petro industry} but like i said I've never seen one that big .........just the 650 pounder. if you eat catfish you know the meat off the head {skull steak} is the best and this bad boy eneded up with like a 15 lb steak off his skull {HUGE !!!!!}

might just be an urban leagend....lol

My grandma used to live in Ok and she always told us stories of the couch-sized catfish her dad and uncles would catch. That was back before nuclear power

Dang!!! A 1500 pound catfish. Shoot, you could skin and filet that beast and have a fully stocked deep freezer with a year supply of some good ole fried catfish!

yea i wouldnt eat any type of catfish or bottom feeder unless i was about to die of starvation. thats like eating junk, because u eat the fish that eats junk, yuck lol. not only that, but i dont think it is healthy to eat. too much parasites or worms i would imagine. those people must have been asian im assuming. Im a saltwater fish guy. Mahi is my favorite.

Wish I had some big fish stories. Sounds pretty interesting down in the depths of some parts. Found a squid skeleton at the beach today. It was all cartilage and kinda cool.

Jweb......not to gross you out or anything but i have worked in restaurants for almost 10 years but i would much eat a catfish i cought out of some random lake before i ate and comercially farmed, talapia or salmon.....the conditions of thoes fish farms are far worse than any lake or river you might fish out of at home....farm raised salmon have so many new desieses that are unheard of in wild salmon...even wild cought soward fish are prone to worms. it is extreamly common for me when i clean soward fish to cut out a few worms.....
