power filter
is a power filter really nessesary when using a sump, i hate having it in my tank, and i want to remove it. it takes up to much space in the tank, the clowns hind behind the lip of it and the lip makes a shadow on my rockwork, shading corals, very annoying, any input?

I don't think so. You have plenty of live rock in there. The amount of nitrifying bacteria in the power filter is very small compared to what is in the LR and sand bed. You could test for ammonia and nitrite for a few days afterwards if you really want to.
