moding aqua pod
so i noticed that the stock return pump for the pod is pretty weak, i dont see how it would be enough for corals. so would it be better to replace it with a maxi jet 1200, or leave it and buy a koralia nano?

i have heard of people who replace the return pump with a bigger one. my cousin added on a piece of pvc with holes drilled in it to the return line, its awesome.

does your cousin use a skimmer? im waiting for the fission nano skimmer to be delivered, it said it was for 12-24 gallon aqua pods, but im wondering if it will fit under the lighting hood

he got a skimmer that is made by bio cube it works great and it fits in the back compartment. i dont like the fissions i think there a pain in the ass, and i dont like how they work. i have never seen them produce skimmate so i never knew if they were working or not. i had one and a couple of people i know had them.

wow im surprized to hear something bad about current products. i know it will fit in the back compartment , i just wasnt sure if i would be able to close the lid, there isnt much room, the skimmer would have to be almost fully submerseble, as there is only like an inch between water and lid

the fission skimmer sucks... i had it for a wile... then i threw it away...
i would get a counter current for a small tank... if it's too big cut it in half... or make your own...
i've heard about people using the maxi jet 1200 on the aqua pods and nano cubes... so it might work... also... check out the maxi jet mod kit they sell at fosters and smith... i'll look for the link... it's just an option instead of getting the koralia...
