New community fish?

by Mike0372983

I have just put in 2 peacefull bettas, 2 assorted platties, and 9 neon tetrasin my new tank. I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas of new community fish that would be nice and compatible with the fish I already have.
(I made a poll about what fish I should get and community fish won!)

How big is the tank? I have never heard of two betas being peaceful together if they are both male.

They are called "peacefull bettas", meaning they are compatible together... I never heard of them either untill my friend bought me two. They get along great together, an d at the fish store there was about 20 in the same tank so they are fine together. My tank is 30 gallon and I alrady have 15 fish so I can get about 15 more inches of fish.

I have seen the African dwarf frogs before but you have to feed them special food and I wouldn't be a fan of doing that everyday.

anytime you get a betta, make sure you don't get any gouramis of any kind, dwarf or normal size. apperantly they are from the same genus and absolutly hate each other. i had two pre-existing gouramis that i never had any problems with until my girl bought a betta male and put him in the tank. i've never seen my gouramis act so mean towards a new fish in the tank.fortunetly, i had time to take him back to the store before they tore him up, but they nipped him pretty good:(.

I have 21 fish (7 species) in my 50 gallon tank. They all get along great, get some ideas off my fish website. http://mycomputerguy.hopto.org/fa.htm
My favorite are the black skirt tetra's, their peacefull and look great, the long fin's are awsome I want to get a few.

I actually have two gouramis (one dwarf) in with a betta and I've never had any trouble with them.

the frogs will eat anything and everything they can shove into their mouths.....so if you do get one with your betta make sure that they are dwarf i had one of my regular clawed frogs try and swallow a 7in rubber eel...didnt work but he didnt seem like he wanted to give up untill i had to pull them apart...that was fun but a "special" diet i dont think is needed, mine love brine shrimp, blood worms, tubifex worms, kale, peas, sea weed, even fish pellets, like i said they will eat anything they can shove in their mouths. my regular clawed frogs favorite things were guppy feeders and gohst shrimp....
