zamize, give me the make and model of your camera... ill look it up and let u know how to set the settings. You don't need a great camera to get good shots... just some patience and a little knowledge of what your camera is doing. And yes, depending on your camera, you might not always be able to pull of the exact shot u want... your camera has limitations if no outiside light source is added.. or if your camera is not able to be manually adjusted at all.

i usually put the camera on macro mode and hold the camera at an angle... then photoshop the picture so the fish is in the middle... lol... adjust colors, levels, effects and stuff...

or sometimes, i take the fish out and lay it on a napkin... HAHAHAl;dfkjsadljfadfj;ksadljf...

lol gumbii...iv heard if u set the napkin on the stove next to a boiling pot of soup while ur taking the pic it makes it much better. j/k of course.

Gumbii -- I heard that you removed your fish from the tank and pinned them to cork board for pics. Heck, ya' need good pics, right?

i heard that gumbii throws the fish into the air and takes a macro shot wile in flight... then he puts the fish in the album and the picture into the tank...

Hmm, the coolpix doesn't have any manual settings, but u can try to either use the macro feature of the camera (the little flower icon on the back controls), or put the camera into scene mode, and then close up option. Try these. This will capture the slower moving fish ok... for fast moving fish try the sports assist mode. see how that works for u. But if u find ure pics dark, u will need more light to shine on the tank.

I played around with the macro settings and the flash and whatnot and got some nice pics. Maybe 5-6 keepers out of, oh, 100. They've finally been approved, yay!

i have a hard time trying to get the picture small enough. How do you get it small enough to put it on this website?

A photo editing program. Any basic program will work. Just upload the image from your camera and resize it.
