You should have a category for "both". I have some of each. I responded "glass" because I prefer glass, but I do have both.

only thing i hate about acrylic is the opening from the top doesn't go all the way out to the edge of the tank, making it quite hard to do certian things in the tank for maintenance. Otherwise, i love my acrylic

I prefer glass. Acrylic may be 17x stronger in regards to withstanding pressure but I always feel like I'm walking on eggshells when cleaning it, and its not like glass can't take a freaking ton of pressure anyway. I now have 3 glass aquariums, a 30, 16, and10, and one acrylic 5gal which has already been scratched after several months of ownership.

I have one 5 gallon acrylic that scratched when I cleaned it with PAPER TOWELS. Argh. Let's hear it for glass!

Actually, the poll asks "What type of tank do you have?" which is quite open-ended! Aren't a few comments about the pros and cons regarding certain tanks a natural transition for this topic that would actually enhance the interest? Drats, censored! :)
Forum n. A public meeting place for open discussion. :) :)
