They will. Maybe I should use the 10 gallon instead of the 3/4 gallon. It'll be a lot cooler. OK. I'm going to get it.

I made the braces for the 10 gallon USD tank and I'm filling it right now. It just fits into my 20 gallon with only a few inches on one end for the powerhead's bubbles to come up in. I have to keep adding water to keep it filling. I'll post if it gets all the way to the top.

I made the braces out of square 1/4 inch steel rod. I guess it may rust. Aluminum or plated steel might have been better. We'll see.

if it all works go to a boat dealer and get stainless steel allthread rod and nuts, then you'll be able to do fine adjustments and no rust.........can't wait for the pics man............Boss

Ok. I think I'll pass on the threaded rod and just bend the peices. I want the braces to be as intrusive as possible. Water's about 5 inches up so far. It'll probably take a few hours to get to the top. I made the verturi by sticking a short piece of tubing onto the end of the powerhead, making a little hole in the top, and sticking a section of air tubing in it. Seems to be working well so far.

I have this in front of the window so it should look pretty cool.

sailboat rudder bar is about 3/8 inch and anodized brass....might work for ya, and where it could be seen it would be ..................well ............."pretty" ..........sorry for the girlie word, lol

Where do you get that stuff? Hardware store, boating store?

Anyway, I ran out of patience and sucked it to the top with my mouth. My homemade venturi wasn't strong enough. Maybe with another one of my powerheads, but anyway. It works if you just suck the water up and leave it. I don't have any bubbles going into it so it'll stay this way.

It's kind of cool to see the fish up there. It's got the window behind it so the fish are pretty exposed. I'll see my GF on Friday so Hopfully I can get some pics then. I'll take some of my new planted tank too

Found three clown loaches and an unknown cichlid like fish dead due to oxygen starvation. The USD tank left too little room for oxygen to get into the water and I didn't have the venturi going. I just had a space about 3 by 10 inches of surface and even though thought I had good surface agitation there it wasn't enough.

I'll try to find a powerhead in my big collection that has a strong enough venturi to pull the 10 gallon USD tank full so I can have bubbles going up into it. If I can't I'll break it down and use the 3/4 gallon tank again.

The only survivors were a small tilapia and 1 or 2 mosquito fish. Oh well. Live and learn.
