Out of curiosity, which catfish do you think are the least and most shy?
I know cories are pretty outgoing, and that wood catfish spend a LOT of time hiding away. What about some others?

Okay I'll say Pictus catfish for being overall friendly.
Raphael catfish for being shy, although they may get less shy the bigger they get!
The thing is, a lot of catfish aren't necessarily shy, but are nocturnal, so that's something to check if you want to be able to see your fish out in the daytime.

Upside down catfish if you're looking for a really unique catfish. They spend a lot of time upside down on the top surface of the water, but they do swim the right side up some too. They're not very skittish, I don't think.
Glass catfish are pretty strange looking too. They're schooling fish and swim around in the midlevel a lot. They might hide if the lighting is too bright, so if this occurs the lighting should be dimmed at times so they don't get stressed, and they need places to hide. But if you have a school of them they usually are good visible community fish - they like having company.
