well actually i dont think ill be needing a ro unit or water now that i think of it. because when i do my water changes im using ocean water str8 from the ocean from my local petco. the water is wonferful and not that expensive. since i do 10 -20% water changes its perfect cuz its a 5g bag for like 10bucks. any input on this? good idea? bad idea? the water doesnt need salt added. its str8 from the ocean. sal lvls are same as i keep mines so. chu think guys?

only concern i would have wouldbe when you do top offs......when water evaporates of the tank the salt does not....so if your topping off with sea water you could be raiseing the salinity ..............possably dangerously . . . . . .if your useing tap water {especially city water} i would look into RO water for that for sure . . .but as far as useing sea water goes.........UM........ we are trying to recreate the sea in our tanks,,,,,,,,no? lol if it's working stay with it man, Boss
