If you want to see current pictures....you have to go to the end of the thread.....and then go to the new one that was started because the thread was soo long. Then go to the 50ish page and its there. This dude lives in Thailand......down to earth....and has an amazing tank. Ill spill the beans......its over 1000 gallons. :) and has 8 400 watt halides.

I like the Takasi Amano planted tanks. He's the master of the planted tank as an art form.

I only WISH I could have a tank like those ones they were building. One of these days............

Sweet link though.

Nice looking Asian chick there too! I want that AND the aquarium.

In that amazing reef set up what are the pressurized gas cylinders for?

I didn't think you needed co2 for reef tanks. O2?

He is running CO2 on his calcium reactor. And the other two huge cylinders are for phosban. He had them custom made. I have a calcium reactor on my tank....and its not too much smaller then his is....which makes me wonder how in the world his keeps up with his massive corals.

phosban is a pressurised gas? I thought it came in granules.

It does. The one pressurized cylnder that looks like a bullet is CO2 and then the other two that look like dive tanks, are plexi glass dive tanks that have been modified to be phosban reactors. Its pretty sick. No one with a normal tank would ever need something that size. But its an awesome idea.

He never did say how much it cost. BUT, he told how much he paid for a heater module.......He paid 300 of his dollars.......aka 8 US dollars. In the US it would cost around 200-300+. So I think the exchange rate is a little helpful on his build. Its still expensive.....but im sure its not as insane as you think.
