HI, If you read help with chilids you know already that I want a chilid tank Im hiped about them and wondering if there were some safe with plants? I would put them in my 20 with only 2 yo yo loaches and thinking 1-3 chilids put in there.
I was thinking about the Altolamprolugus compressiceps in nature it eats inveretebrates and.......fish fry! its one of the smallist rockdweller chilids. I think it wouldnt eat the plants if you look at the mouth it would have to go though a lot of trouble to uproot a plant. I was thinging 1 male 1-2 females.
P.S Were going to put the yoyo loaches in the chilid tank
Safe with plants?

why not go with some south american cichlids? They can be more needy in terms of water clairty - in some cases, but as far as I know there aren't any that don't go just fine with plants. Many such as german blue rams can even be kept with other community fish such . Apistogramma are nice looking fish as well.
I don't know much about Africans, but I'm pretty sure most varieties don't go well with plants.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!! African Cichlids are a big no, no in a tank smaller than 55gal. Be patient and wait until you have yuor 55 up and running. Plants should be okay if you introduce them to the tank before the fish. But, again I would avoid cichlids in a 20 gal
