Thursdays the big day
I have bought a Reef Octopus NW-200. yes........its rated for up to 260 gallons....but hopefully it will work on my 29. :) Its already got a mesh wheel and a gate valve mod.......so its supposedly a beast. The lady im buying it from had it on a 350 gallon tank. So needless to say.....im going to have to overfeed my tank. Whatcha guys think?

Well......my question is......do you think it will be overkill? I dont want to hurt my tank inhabitants...

by the way.......buying a new tank tomorrow if the dude calls me. 45 tall......stand canopy new tank and wet dry.........75 bucks. :) DAMN! Then its out with the VHO's in two maybe three months.....and in with T5s. Im stoked! 45 tall will be kinda difficult to aqua scape.......but I think I can pull off two towers, or something like I have now.

Just make sure you don't run it 24/7. I'd have it shut off for like 1 or 2 hours a day. Then maybe not run it one full day out of the week or so.

if your skimmer turns over more water than your filter - - - - you might be a redneck...................hahahahaha
jwebs advise sounds solid - - -put that puppy on a timer and see what happens
lol then when the lights dim while your having some friends over you can just say - -"oh, thats just my skimmer kickin in"

i have a euroreef series 3 for my 120 - -not quit as bad as your octo, b ut ill be "over" skimming as well - -its rated for 500-750 gallon tanks
im really starting to lean towards the skimmer being more important than filtration levels in a salt sytem..........these things are amazing
hey if your skimmers big enough it'll pull chunks out as well as suspended particals and filters will become a thing of the past..............good sump with biologicals in it and a monster skimmer and away we go.....................woohoo
whach you may have just started a monster skimmer movement Fishboy, in a few months there will be 10 gallon nanos with ASM-G2's on em on you tube
hahahahaha
