I switched my powerheads out with Koralia's after losing several of my peppermint shrimps and snails. They turned out to be great meals for my inhabitants, but a little pricey.

If your using Maxi-jets etc just put a small sponge filter on the bottom,clean it every week mind you,but that will stop your guys dying.
