lol...
i'm sporting a rio 32hf or something... i know it's aboot 2300gph with a high head... the return is split to two 1" piping and two 3/4" eductors... one on each side of the tank... the only thing i need to get now is a better overflow box... i have two POS ones and they are getting on my nerves... they are rated at 500gph but i have 1-1/4" u-pipes... that made a huge difference... but i get micro bubbles in my tank because of the lack of bubble trap in my rubbermaid sump... fail...
i'll see if i have a picture...
rio 1700(nah) mag 5 (nah) mag 7 (nah) mag 9???

damn dude. How big is that tank? I got the 9 in today.......the out put is larger than what is on the 7...so I have to get a new little set up.... im thinking about getting rid of the hard line set up......im losing a TON of flow from it. I want to hook up my mag 9 with a nice hose setup. too much you think?

i just ordered a koralia 3. so now i'll have 2000+ gph in my 58 gallon. I also bought the maxijet mod, which is amazing, it turned my 100 gph power head into about 600 gph. I need a higher power sump pump eventually. I have the mag drive 5 (or equivalent) I think, it came with the setup I bought. It has a high flow, but not enough IMO. The return is split into two 1" bendy pipes. So it's low power coming out of them.

i spent 15 years building gas stations .................so i can comment on pipeing - -you can lose up to 15 percent of your flow in one solid 90 degree ell fitting 5-7 percent in a 45 ............its crazy how much flow you can lose - - - i would say its very safe to say that a one inch hose with minimal sweeping bends in it is equvalent to 1 1/2 to 2 inch hard pipeing
we were pulling out 4 inch main trunk line {steel pipe}at truck stops and replaceing it with 2 1/2 inch enviroflex flexable line and gaining flow, just to give you an idea

well......I have basically 7 90 degree fittings in the line..... so im losing a TON with that.....I might try to hook up the 9 with tubing and see how that goes. Id like a solid 700-800 gph out of each pipe......of course thats alternating....

I took out the prefilter on my 7 today.....HOLY COW. that helped a lot! it wasnt really dirty....its just that thick sponge.....took it off and BAM. more flow. im going to softline it today as well.....less stress on the pump and more flow. if thats not enough.......pulling out the Mag 9.5. if it does work then im selling the mag 9 to the lfs. :)
