btw........i run NO chemicals besides calcium and alk. no carbon no phosban nothin. :)

me neither.. well i use ferts...... but f all that carbon and all that other crap......i have not had any ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate spikes in over a year.....plants.... or in your case fishboy alge and mangroves... work wonders

its crazy how well nature does its job. If we would encourage plankton and blue green algae blooms in the pacific ocean.....our CO2 levels would literally half from what we have messed up with cars. and oxygen would spike...question is....would it throw EVERYTHING off balance. O2 levels would go through the roof and the algae would bloom taking in carbon dioxide and nutrients from the ocean floor....Called an ocean pump. Not sure how it would react to the rest of the ecosystem........thats why they arent in effect. check it out and see what you think.....
