Hey guys,
Kind of a stupid question, but do you guys vacuum out your sand during your water changes. I have a 3" Live sand bed and my LFS said not to vacuum it because I will suck out alot of the bene bacteria and copepods. Should I just use a powerhead and blow across the sand like I do my rocks before I do the water change? What do you guys do?

Hey schigara,
What kind of gobies and blenny are you keeping. I have about 50 Nass snails, but I noticed that my sand isn't as clean as when I transferred my tank two weeks ago.

Newbie.......same thing is happening to me. I did a TOTAL tank make over......stired it all up, its like a whole new mini cylce. EVERYTHING got moved.......so my sand is brown right now. But give it time, it will go away. I have probably the same amount of Nas snails as you and a sand sifting star......They are trying to take care of it.....but shit happens....literally. :)
