Should have a category for biotopic aquariums. Reproduction of natural environment. Fish from same place, aquascaping to reproduce fishes natural surroundings for both viewers and fishes pleasure.

call it what you want man.........thats a beautiful tank !!! very well laid out
i think like Blue said, for the most part people try to recreate natural environments with their tanks.............i would say thats the diference between an aquarists and a fish tank keeper..............

Where did blue post? haha lost me boss. But I do agree with that statement completly. http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=29491 Scroll down a little........ The top aquarium is a fish tank.........the bottom is an environment. and it recreates the wild very nicely I think.

I think biotope aquariums should definitely have their own category. It takes a lot more thought and research to find fish and plants from a specific region and make a natural looking habitat. Nice aquarium Doc, but where are the pink plants and Greek columns ??? LOL
