i recently bought a fish, only cos the women said it eats sanils-to be honest, i werent listerning what she was telling me, the only bits i heard was "...social fish...eats snails.."

anyways i have no idea what it is, she sed its diet consists of mostly snail-around the tank and ones hide in the gravel or sand, ill try and get a pic but he hides all the time, comes out at night mainly, but i dont think hes nocturnal, just bit uncomfortable being in a strange place

hes about 4 inches, has strips on him, normal sort of browny/green colour, he has the body shape of a clown loach-that sorta shape, and he has small whisker bits by his mouth/nose area

if anyone could give me any ideas what this is, i could proberly google it and see if it is, ill try n get a pic, but like i said, he out at night

If its not a clown it may be a yo-yo loach. Barbels narrows it down to loaches and catfish basically..and well since you say it resembles a clown...i'd lean toward yoyo loach. They are well known snail-eaters.
