frag tank lighting
so i have an old pc compact fixture that have 65w bulbs on them the frag tank is going to be around 24x12x6/8 about 8 to 10 gallons. Question is if i put 2 65w bulbs above that will that be too much or should i add 4

tooo much.....not at all. I have 300 watts over a 29.......and I want more. You will be fine. If anything I would run four 65 watt bulbs for a frag tank. What are you fragging?

i would stick with 2 bulbs over a 8 or 10 gallon tank, with 4 your looking at 26 watts per gallon the corals you named are likely to bleach, thats crazy..is this going to be plumbed to your display tank ?

yeah its going to be drawing water from the return section of my sump i installed the lights last night and im working on plumbing the return and overflow. it is going to be a pull out drawer style so when i have frags in the tank the pump is on and working and when theres nothing in there it will drain so i dont have to run it all the time. and the reason for a drawer style is it will save some room in my stand and give me great accessibility and view

ohh shit I didnt see him say it was going to be on a 10 gallon. My bad. haha. I would still do it. :) maybe run T5's They would be better in the long run. And they wouldnt cost too much. Of course....they would be more than what you have..because you already have the PC's........
