so i want to put a dsb in my refugium but i was reading an article to day they work better not being lit at all.

How deep should it be?

yup if you dont use a light you dont need all the critters to stir it up,i would say a minimum of 4 if its remote dsb, but if you do use a light , check out RDP, help stabalize ph with out the swings...
