how many hermit crabs to put into tank?????
i have a 55 gallon and was wondering how many hermits i should put in it. 65lbs live rock....

rule of thumb is 2 crabs and 1 snail for every gallon, thats if you want to have a matenence free tank. but bout 25-30 is sufficient.

if you dont plan on getting that many corals i would agree with angus...but if your plan is more corals i would stick with a few . hermits are careless they will walk all over your corals , mabie even knock them down if they are not snugg into the rocks.
