I'd go with a single double ended 250W. 10 inches above, no top. The shimmering look would blow your mind..:-) I go topless all the time. I had all kinds of gobies and blennies, and none of them jumped out of my tanks, ever.

i also don't know who to talk to about lighting...
i'm going to upgrade this week... right now i have 260w of PC lights... i have a 90g cube tank thing...
i'm thinking about getting two 250W MH bulbs and keeping 130W PC lights... but i don't know what kelvin degree, or anything... or if i should even get two 250W bulbs... maybe a pair of 175's... but i don't know... i could afford getting two retro 400W bulbs, but i think that would be over kill...
how do i find out this info...?

BTW.....the (old) owner of my LFS is running a 250watt mh over a 20 gallon. it doesnt overheat and he has a GORGEOUS tank. My LFS got bought by another employee....he wants to bring BIG changes and bring a larger selection of corals.......YES!!!!!!! I just put together a hood today too btw......took me about an hour....total cost.......26.50. Thats after buying a hand saw, wood, square, pencil, and hinges. I love my coralife, its great right now....but man......I cant wait to get more power!
