save up for a chiller blueshoes. A little extra coin and it takes the worry out of temps.
A cheaper alternative is to by a halide fixture of ebay, that has come from a shop or something and put an aquarium kelvin bulb in. just have to make it work with your hood. Check the link below. that is exactly what i have running. 4 of those over my tank and a double row fluro with actinics. Sorry not sure how to paste links. If you keep watching ebay they come up all the time. i paid $100 aus for 6 of them with transformers. Then bought four 14000k bulbs of ebay for 50 bucks total.

acutally......I believe snowboss came up with a solution for that........I remember a post a while back that you could just run some hose through a refridgerator......hold your food in the fridge and bam.......chiller. You could buy a small fridge for 40-50 bucks. drill a hole run the pipe.....just an idea from the one post........redneck chiller i think? and light wise.....no matter what.....if you go with reef......your going to spend a little more.

I don't think you need a chiller blueshoes2208. I have 2 nano Koralias,
a Rio-180, and a MaxiJet 1200 (for the refugium) in a 10 Gallon reef.
I also have a 150W Outer Orbit metal halide system. My temp. is between
78-80 degrees without a chiller.
If you purchase a light system that comes with a mounting set it could hang
from the ceiling (very easy to do it, so don't be affraid). Leave about 10-12
inches between the water surface and the light.
Between set up a good quality and quiet fan. Like this one:

You can't go wrong. All the heat comes out of the light will be blown away
by this great little fan. I can send you some pictures how I did mine. BTW,
I'm sorry I just got your message from the end of July and I did not notice.
