We stopped talking about the fish a long time ago.
Anybody here heard about the space evevator?
NASA's giving large monetary prizes for 2 aspects of it's development and it's guestimated that it'll be built within 50 years.
The actual make up of the "cable" will probably be made of carbon nano-fibres, and the energy beaming system that will be used to power the elevator cars are the 2 main technologies that NASA is hoping will be developed.
The idea is that a cable of sorts could be extended from the Earth, probably from a movable barge in the ocean near the equator, and it would extend far beyond the influence of Earths gravitational pull so that the centrifical force from Earth's rotation keeps it up, or extended.
The idea initially is to launch a space ship into an Earth orbit from a fixed point above the equator and to lower a long thin cable to the Earth's surface. To counteract the pull of gravity toward the Earth there will simultaneously be a cable spooled out in the other direction to keep the operation balanced.
Has anyone heard of this?

What was 3 years ago? Was that the competition for the light beaming powered car thing nobody won cause noone's car went fast enough?

chagoi koi ? is that a good thing or just a fancy name for "special" {meaning basically retarded koi, lol}
Z - i stand resonably corrected - what you said is basically what i meant, only i don't have the ability to present it in such a way..............i can only imagine what depression can do to a human brain...............but thankfully i havn't ever had to deal with it, there for i can't wrap my head around suicide, so i probably shouldn't speak on things i havn't expieiernced - - - - - i have been through hell and back in my own life, from a war through 2 divorces, one i lost a daughter which i haven't seen in 14 yrs the other i lost 250,000 dollars in a matter of 3 months, haveing a house burn down {with no insurance on it} to being a struggling small business owner and never once has life ever been bad enough to think that ending it was an option , i really do consider myself blessed because i know people who have suceeded at it and attempted it for much much much less stress in their lives - - it really is amazing how one thing will throw one person into an uncontrollable tailspin and another person just lets it roll off them with almost no effescts
i concider myself blessed for sure
i stand corrected

My 35 gallon planted high light tank is finally starting to look good. i just got some red Lotus and it's a nice color contrast, and there is dwarf hair grass too as well as a bunch of other plants. I'm definately getting about 4 coolie loaches.
I really want some small diskus too. I think I'll get a few and raise them in this tank, and when they get bigger I'll move them to a 60 gallon. This tank is 3 feet wide with lots of deep hiding places so I think they'll be happy for a while.
I want some marlboro red, pidgeon blood, and snake skin, and maybe some tetras too. I'll have to take out all the mosquito fish and the 2 runt breeding tilapia too.
