Hey everyone, Ok I had a FOWLR aquarium tank, and that didnt work out!!
So, Im going to try a Fish only tank with dead live rock...
Would I be ok if I only had a 29gallon tank, with a canister filter, and two power filters?
(PS: Im planning on adding live rock after a few months, if It goes good!)

why wouldn't it work out...? did you cycle the live rock...???
and the dead rock will eventually turn into live rock on it's own somehow... cycle the dead rock by itself again...

slow down....................how long was the Fowlr running? it sounds to me as if you rushed things, believe me i know what your going through, i crashed my 20 the first time round.....................theres not really much difference between a FOWLR and a FO tank..............the live rock can only help, and it looks better as well - -personally i don't believe in FO tanks, theres no such thing as a fish only environment in wild {at least to my knowledge}...............if you havn't drained the tank, leave it alone..................do 10-20% water changes every week, filter maintinence, test test test the water and monitor parameters and wait .................. i'm talking a coupe months , treat the tank as if you have 2000 dollars worth of fish in it and then you'll be in prime form for 100 dollars worth of fish when it's ready, water quality is for the system, NOT the fish, if the system is balanced than the fish will be happy.....you CAN NOT rush this process, think of it as building the foundation of a house.........if you rush it and cut corners..........the house will look awsome for a little while but will eventually fall down and be a pile of crap in the end..............
don't get rid of the live rock, it will cycle out eventually on it's own time

i'm planning to make a FO tank soon... but i'm going to have a 60g refugium with live rock... and soft soft live sand on the bottom... but i'm only going to have like a shark and a couple of other predators in there... so it's all good...
and yeah... i also got the impression that he rushed the "OMGINEEDTOHAVEFISHINTHETANKNOW!!" phase of setting up a tank... been there before... not good...
