Fluval external canister filter

does anybody have a Fluval external canister filter? Just want to know if they are quiet and good for a planted tank, my tank is 29 gal if your wondering... O ya and do they make a lot of surface movement?

Yeah I have the 305 and love it. I have never had any problems with it. Can't hear it run at all - never leaked - and leaves the tank sparkling. That is my experience at least.

P.S. Yes, mine disturbs the water just fine. Just leave te outlet near the top and it will break the surface tension of the water.

I just want it to be quiet, not make lot's of surface movement becuase I have a planted tank and the less surface movement there is the more c02 is put in the tank for my plants. But the fact that it's quiet makes me want to buy it:P

canisters ar always a good choice if you want quiet... i can even tell mine is on my air pump is louder than my canister

sweet, so they are good for planted tanks? I saw a newer model for the same price, probably getting it now.
