CLOUDY WATER???
ok so i have a 40 gallon african cichlid tank with10 fish all bout 2 inches long and no matter what i do my water looks loudy why? i do weekly water changes ive tried everything can any body help?

Could be an algae bloom if the water your taking out looks a bit greenish (you can tell if you put it into a white bucket) Mine gets like that sometimes because my lights are crap and pretty old so they have a huge impact on algae growth.

no green color looks clear in a bucket or cup just cloudy in the tank. and yes i do i have 2 penguin 200 with the bio wheel on it

hmmm, maybe its the crushed coral substrate or the slate rocks. Check your fitlers and make sure they aren't just spewing gunk out.

ok thank you its kind of weird ive had crystal clear water since i set it up last year. than i had friends and family over they were all like your tanks so clean your fish are so pretty than boom cloudy water i think they jinxed me lol

Do you have real or artifical plants? I had a similar problem and when I added a couple live plants it seemed to clear my water up. I think my problem might of been a high nitrate level. Nice a clear now though,

i have real plants at this time but ill give them another day or so before the africans finish eating them
